సివిల్స్ మెయిన్స్ జీఎస్-4కు సంబంధించి యూపీఎస్సీ ఇటీవల నమూనా ప్రశ్నలు (Sample Questions) విడుదల చేసింది. వీటిని బట్టి ప్రశ్నపత్రం ఎలా ఉంటుందన్న దానిపై అభ్యర్థులు అవగాహన పెంపొందించుకోవచ్చు. ఆరు నమూనా ప్రశ్నలను విడుదల చేయగా, వాటిలో మూడు కేస్ స్టడీకి సంబంధించినవే. దీన్నిబట్టి రాబోయే ప్రశ్నపత్రంలో కేస్ స్టడీ ఆధారిత ప్రశ్నలు ఎక్కువగా ఉండే అవకాశముందని అర్థం చేసుకోవచ్చు.

Scholarships are offered to the students who shall be admitted into TIFR. They are
PhD Scholarships: Students receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 16,000/- (enhanced to Rs 18,000/- after registration) and an annual contingency grant of Rs 20,000/-, in addition to a tuition grant covering the annual fees. The annual fee is Rs 4000/-.
Integrated-PhD (Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/Biology) Scholarships: Students receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 16,000/- (enhanced to Rs 18,000/- from third year onwards, subject to passing the Comprehensive Exam/registration), in addition to tuition grant covering the annual fees.

| ప్రపంచంలో అత్యుత్తమ విద్యా సంస్థలకు వేదిక బ్రిటన్.. అక్కడి ఇంపీరియల్ కాలేజ్-లండన్, కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ యూనివర్సిటీలుపతిభావంతులైన అంతర్జాతీయ విద్యార్థులను ప్రోత్సహించడంలో ఎప్పుడూ ముందంజలో ఉంటాయి.. ఇందుకు అన్ని రకాల సహాయ సహకారాలను అందజేస్తాయి.. ఆ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్‌లలో లభించే సౌకర్యాలు, అత్యున్నత ఫ్యాకల్టీల కారణంగా పరిశోధనల దిశగా ఆలోచించే ప్రతి విద్యార్థి ప్రాధాన్యత జాబితాలో ఈ రెండు ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్‌లు ఉంటాయనడంలో ఎటువంటి సందేహం లేదు.. అలాంటిది ఈ రెండు ప్రఖ్యాత ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్‌ల నుంచి పరిశోధనలు చేసే అరుదైన అవకాశాన్ని దక్కించుకున్నాడు ‘అభినవ ఘోష్’.. కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ దిశగా సాగిన తన ప్రయాణంలో అతనికి ఎదురైన అనుభవాలు.. మీ కోసం బీహార్‌లోని పూర్నియా నా స్వస్థలం. విట్ యూనివర్సిటీ-వెల్లూరు నుంచి బీఎస్సీ (మైక్రోబయాలజీ), ఎంఎస్సీ (అప్లయిడ్ మైక్రోబయాలజీ) చేశాను. స్కాలర్‌షిప్స్ సహకారంతోనే ఈ రెండు కోర్సులను పూర్తి చేశాను. విజిటింగ్ రీసెర్చర్: ఎంఎస్సీ రీసెర్చ్ వర్క్ కోసం లండన్‌లోని ఇంపీరియల్ కాలేజీని ఎంచుకున్నాను. ఆ కాలేజీలోని సెంటర్ ఆఫ్ మాలిక్యులర్ మైక్రోబయాలజీ అండ్ ఇన్ఫెక్షన్ నుంచి ‘మైక్రోబయల్ జెనెటిక్స్’ అనే అంశంపై విజిటింగ్ రీసెర్చర్‌గా రీసెర్చ్ వర్క్ పూర్తి చేశాను. ఇందుకు ఇంపీరియల్ కాలేజీతోపాటు విట్ యూనివర్సిటీ కూడా ఆర్థిక సహాయం అందించాయి. ఇంపీరియల్ కాలేజీలోని అత్యున్నత సౌకర్యాలు, శిక్షణ పరిశోధనల దిశగా కెరీర్‌ను ఎంచుకోవడానికి ఎంతగానో తోడ్పడ్డాయి. అంతేకాకుండా రీసెర్చ్ వర్క్‌ను యూనివర్సిటీ ఆఫ్ ఈర్లనాజెన్ (జర్మనీ), హాన్స్-నాల్ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్ (జర్మనీ) వంటి యూనివర్సిటీలతోపాటు పలు అంతర్జాతీయ వేదికలపై ప్రదర్శించే అవకాశం లభించింది. ఇందుకుగాను ఇంపీరియల్ కాలేజీ ఆర్థిక సహకారాన్ని అందించింది. సైంటిఫిక్, నాన్ సైంటిఫిక్ అంశాలకు సంబంధించి పలు పబ్లికేషన్స్ కూడా వెలువరించాను. క్యాన్సర్ జన్యువులపై పరిశోధన: పస్తుతం కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ యూనివర్సిటీ నుంచి పీహెచ్‌డీ చేస్తున్నాను. అంతర్జాతీయ విద్యార్థులకు సాధారణంగా అడ్మిషన్ కల్పించే ప్రక్రియలో భాగంగానే కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ యూనివర్సిటీలో నాకు అవకాశం దక్కింది. పీహెచ్‌డీ కోర్సులో చేరే క్రమంలో ఎన్నో ప్రతిష్టాత్మక స్కాలర్‌షిప్స్ కూడా లభించాయి. అవి.. కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ నెహ్రూ స్కాలర్షిప్-2012, రాజీవ్ గాంధీ యూకే స్కాలర్షిప్-2012, సెయింట్ ఎడ్మండ్స్ డ్యూక్ ఆఫ్ ఎడిన్‌బర్గ్ స్కాలర్షిప్-2012, రేమండ్ అండ్ బేవర్లీ సాక్లర్ స్కాలర్షిప్-2012. అంతేకాకుండా ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా స్కాలర్‌షిప్స్ కోసం నిర్వహించిన పోటీలో అత్యంత ప్రతిభావ ంతునిగా గుర్తింపు పొందాను. ప్రస్తుతం కేంబ్రిడ్జ్‌లో ‘క్యాన్సర్ జన్యువుల’పై పరిశోధన చేస్తున్నాను. సెయింట్ ఎడ్మండ్స్ కాలేజీలో సభ్యుడిని కూడా. అన్ని విధాల సహకారం: పతిభావంతులైన అంతర్జాతీయ విద్యార్థులను ప్రోత్సహించడంలో కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ యూనివర్సిటీ ఎప్పుడూ ముందంజలో ఉంటుంది. స్వదేశం నుంచి బయలుదేరి యూనివర్సిటీలో చేరే వరకు అన్ని రకాల సహకారాన్ని అందిస్తుంది. ఎటువంటి అసౌకర్యం లేకుండా యూనివర్సిటీకి ఏ విధంగా చేరుకోవాలనే విషయానికి సంబంధించి సమాచారాన్ని ముందుగానే పంపిస్తుంది. అక్కడ బ్యాంక్ అకౌంట్ ఓపెనింగ్, తదితర అన్ని అంశాల్లో సహాయపడేందుకు ఒక గైడ్‌ను కూడా యూనివర్సిటీ నియమిస్తుంది. వివిధ దేశాల నుంచి వచ్చే విద్యార్థుల మధ్య సమన్వయం ఏర్పడడానికి వీలుగా సోషల్ ఈవెంట్స్‌ను కూడా నిర్వహిస్తుంది. కొంత మంది విద్యార్థులకు కలిపి ఒక ట్యూటర్ నియమిస్తుంది. విద్యార్థులు వారికి సంబంధించిన అన్ని విషయాలను, సం దేహాలను ఆ ట్యూటర్‌తో చర్చించే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. బ్రిటన్‌లో ఉన్నత విద్యనభ్యసించాలనుకునే విద్యార్థులు ఒక విషయాన్ని తప్పకుండా గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి. అది..విద్యార్థులు తమ వసతి సౌకర్యాలను ముందుగానే బుక్ చేసుకోవాలి. వీసా మంజూరు కోసం కూడా ఇవి తప్పనిసరి. ఉత్తమ వర్సిటీ: అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయి సదుపాయాలు, అత్యున్నత ఫ్యాకల్టీ వెరసి కేంబ్రిడ్జ్‌ను ప్రపంచంలోనే ఉత్తమ యూనివర్సిటీగా నిలిపాయని చెప్పొచ్చు. కేవలం ఏదో అంశానికి పరిమితంకాకుండా ప్రస్తుత పోటీ ప్రపంచంలో రాణించే విధంగా విద్యార్థి సర్వోతముఖ అభివృద్ధికి తోడ్పడే కరిక్యులం ఉంటుంది. తాము ఎంచుకున్న రంగంలో లీడర్లుగా ఎదిగేందుకు కావల్సిన అన్ని రకాల అవకాశాలను కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ కల్పిస్తుంది. పీహెచ్‌డీ విద్యార్థులు ఫ్యాకల్టీల పర్యవేక్షణలో పరిశోధనలు చేయాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఎంఫిల్ కోర్సుకు మాత్రం వర్క్, లేబొరేటరీ సెషన్ రెండూ ఉంటాయి. సాధారణంగా ఉదయం 9 నుంచి సాయంత్రం 5 గంటల వరకు అకడమిక్ సెషన్ ఉంటుంది. విద్యార్థులు ఆసక్తి మేరకు ఏ సమయంలోనైనా పరిశోధన సౌకర్యాలను వినియోగించుకోవచ్చు. భవిష్యత్ లక్ష్యం: డాక్టోరల్ స్టడీస్ తర్వాత పోస్ట్ డాక్టోరల్ కోర్సు చేసి ఇండియాకు తిరిగి వస్తాను. దేశంలో విద్య, పరిశోధన రంగాలను మరింత మెరుగుపరచాల్సి ఉంది. ఆ దిశగా కృషి చేస్తాను. విజయానికి దగ్గరి దారులు అంటూ ఏమీ ఉండవు. ఓర్పు, అంకితభావం ఉంటే ఎంచుకున్న రంగంలో విజయం సొంతమవుతుంది. |

 ఇంజనీరింగ్.. మెడిసిన్.. బిజినెస్ మెనేజ్‌మెంట్.. ఇలా రొటీన్ కోర్సులకు భిన్నంగా సృజనాత్మక రంగమైన ఫిల్మ్‌మేకింగ్‌ను ఎంచుకుంది ఆ అమ్మాయి.. కాలేజీలో ఉన్నపుడే కొన్ని షార్ట్‌ఫిల్మ్స్, డాక్యుమెంటరీలను తీసింది.. తల్లిదండ్రుల ప్రోత్సాహంతో అన్నింటా రాణిస్తూ.. అమెరికాలోని ప్రముఖ రింగ్లింగ్ ఆర్ట్స్ అండ్ డిజైన్ కళాశాల క్యాంపస్‌లో సీటు సంపాదించింది.. అంతేనా..! అక్కడ నాలుగేళ్ల చదువుకయ్యే 2 లక్షల డాలర్లను స్కాలర్‌షిప్‌గా పొందనుంది విజయవాడకు చెందిన కొల్లూరు పూజ అపర్ణ. లక్ష్యం పట్ల స్పష్టత.. తల్లిదండ్రులు ఇచ్చిన స్వేచ్ఛను సద్వినియోగం చేసుకుంటే.. ఎవరైనా విజేతలుగా నిలుస్తారంటున్న అపర్ణ సక్సెస్ స్టోరీ ఆమె మాటల్లోనే!!సేవ.. సృజనాత్మకత: ఏదో ఒకటి చదివేసి దొరికిన ఉద్యోగంతో స్ధిరపడాలనే ఆలోచన ఉండేది కాదు. సమాజానికి నా వంతు సాయపడుతూ.. సృజనాత్మకంగా ఏదైనా చేయాలని భావించా. పదో తరగతి పూర్తికాగానే నా లక్ష్యానికి తగిన కాలేజీని వెతుక్కొని పుణేలో రెండేళ్ల ఇంటర్నేషనల్ బ్యాక్యూలరేట్(ఐబీ) డిప్లొమా ఫిజిక్స్, ఎకనామిక్స్, స్పానిష్, ఇంగ్లిష్, ఫిల్మ్‌స్టడీ సబ్జెక్టులతో పూర్తిచేశా. డిప్లొమా పరీక్షలు పూర్తవగానే జనవరిలో అమెరికాలోని పేరున్న మూడు కాలేజీలకు దరఖాస్తు చేశా. అప్లికేషన్‌తోపాటు నా మెరిట్ సర్టిఫికెట్స్, అవార్‌‌డ్స, షార్ట్‌ఫిల్మ్స్, డాక్యుమెంటరీ అటాచ్ చేశా. మిగిలిన రెండు కాలేజీలు సగమే స్కాలర్‌ిషిప్స్ ఇస్తామంటూ మెయిల్ చేశాయి. రింగ్లింగ్ కాలేజ్ ఆఫ్ ఆర్ట్స్ + డిజైన్ మాత్రమే నాలుగేళ్ల కోర్సు పూర్తయ్యే వరకూ పాకెట్‌మనీతో సహా స్కాలర్షిప్ ఇచ్చేందుకు ముందుకొచ్చింది. కాలేజీలో సీటు రావటంతోపాటు కోటి ఇరవై లక్షల రూపాయలకు పైగా స్కాలర్షిప్ ఇస్తామనటం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. నాన్నే స్ఫూర్తి:నాన్న వెంకట్, ఫోటో జర్నలిస్టు. అమ్మ రేణుకాదేవి బ్యూటీషియన్. చెల్లి ప్రియాంక ఇంటర్ ఫస్టియర్. నాపై నాన్న ప్రభావం ఎక్కువ. కెమెరాతో అప్పుడప్పుడూ ఫోటోలు తీయటం హాబీగా మారింది. క్రమేణా ఫిల్మ్స్ వైపు ఆసక్తి కలిగింది. ఫుణే వెళ్లి కోర్సులో చేరతానని చెప్పినపుడు నాన్న కొద్దిగా ఇబ్బందిపడ్డారు. కానీ, చివరకు నా మాటకే ఓటేశారు. ఆడపిల్లనని ఏ రోజూ కట్టడి చేయలేదు. విజయవాడ కేంద్రీయ విద్యాలయలో పదోతరగతి 9.2 గ్రేడ్‌తో పూర్తి చేశా. ఐబీలో కూడా మంచి మార్కులే వచ్చాయి. మూడోతరగతి నుంచే స్కౌట్స్‌లో చురుగ్గా పాల్గొనేదాన్ని. మన రాష్ట్రంతోపాటు దేశంలోని పలు ప్రాంతాల్లో జరిగిన క్యాంపులకు వెళ్లా. టెన్త్‌లో ఉన్నప్పుడు రాష్ట్రపతి పురస్కారం లభించింది. అదే సంవత్సరం పార్లమెంటరీ అవార్డు కూడా వచ్చింది. కేంద్రీయ విద్యాలయ క్లాసులు మధ్యాహ్నం 2.30 గంటలకే ముగిసేవి. మిగతా సమయాన్ని స్కౌట్స్, టేబుల్ టెన్నిస్, కల్చరల్ యాక్టివిటీస్‌కు కేటాయించేదాన్ని. ఫిల్మ్‌మేకింగ్.. నా కల: పదో తరగతి తర్వాత ఫోటోగ్రఫీ, ఫిల్మ్ మేకింగ్‌లను కెరీర్‌గా మార్చుకోవాలనుకున్నా. ఆ సమయంలో పుణేలోని మహీంద్రా కాలేజీ గురించి తెలిసింది. ఇంటర్నెట్‌లో వివరాలు తెలుసుకుని దరఖాస్తు చేశా. సీటు రావటంతో చేరిపోయా. ఈ ఏడాది జనవరిలో పరీక్షలు పూర్తికాగానే అమెరికాలో ఫిల్మ్ మేకింగ్ కోర్సు చేసేందుకు కొన్ని కాలేజీలకు దరఖాస్తు చేశా. ఫ్లోరిడాలోని రింగ్లింగ్ కాలేజీ నుంచి స్కాలర్షిప్ రావడంతో అక్కడే నాలుగేళ్ల ‘బ్యాచిలర్ ఆఫ్ ఫైన్ ఆర్ట్స్’లో ఫిల్మ్ మేకింగ్ ప్రధాన సబ్జెక్టుగా చేరబోతున్నా. షార్ట్‌ఫిల్మ్స్‌తో గుర్తింపు:పుణేలో చదివేటపుడు కోర్సులో భాగంగా ప్రాక్టికల్స్ కూడా ఉంటాయి. అందులో భాగంగా కొన్ని షార్ట్‌ఫిల్మ్స్ తీశా. నేనే స్వయంగా స్క్రిప్ట్, డెరైక్షన్ చేస్తూ.. రూపొందించిన ‘మ్యాడ్ వరల్డ్’ మంచి గుర్తింపు తెచ్చింది. ప్రకృతిని నాశనం చేసుకుంటూపోతున్న మనిషి చివరకు ఎలాంటి పరిస్థితులు ఎదుర్కోవాల్సి వస్తుందనే ఊహకు రూపం ఇది. ఫొటో జర్నలిజంలో భాగంగా రాజస్థాన్ వెళ్లినపుడు సాంస్కృతిక వారసత్వాన్ని ప్రతిబింబించేలా డాక్యుమెంటరీ తీశా. 2007లో హైదరాబాద్‌లో జరిగిన బాంబు పేలుళ్ల నేపథ్యంలో.. ‘ది డేట్’ పేరుతో షార్ట్‌ఫిల్మ్ తీశా. స్క్రిప్ట్ నుంచి కెమెరా, ఎడిటింగ్ అన్నీ స్వయంగా పూర్తిచేశా. ఇవన్నీ స్కాలర్షిప్ సాధించేందుకు దోహదపడ్డాయి. డిస్కవరీ చానల్‌లో చేరాలనుంది: సమాజాన్ని మార్చగల అస్త్రం.. మీడియా. ప్రజలతో ఉంటూ జనజీవితాన్ని ప్రపంచానికి చూపటం నాకిష్టం. దీనివల్ల మంచి పని చేస్తున్నామనే సంతృప్తి ఉంటుంది. కమర్షియల్ మూవీస్ చేయాలని లేదు. డాక్యుమెంటరీస్ మాత్రమే. అద్భుతం అనేలా మన దేశంలో రూపొందించిన సినిమాలు లేవనే చెప్పాలి. నాకు నచ్చిన డెరైక్టర్ ఆల్ఫ్రెడ్ హిచ్‌కాక్. ఫిల్మ్ మేకింగ్‌లో ఆయన స్టైలే డిఫరెంట్. అంతగొప్పగా కాకున్నా.. ప్రపంచం మెచ్చే డాక్యుమెంటరీస్ తీయాలని ఉంది. గ్రాడ్యుయేషన్ కోర్సు చేస్తున్నప్పుడు సబ్జెక్ట్ నాలెడ్జ్‌ని మరింతగా మెరుగుపరచుకుంటా. ఆ తర్వాత నేషనల్ జియోగ్రాఫికల్, డిస్కవరీ వంటి చానల్స్‌లో పని చేయాలనుంది. ఆత్మవిశ్వాసమే సగం బలం: మనం పెరిగిన సామాజిక పరిస్థితులు ఆడపిల్లల ఎదుగుదలకు ఇబ్బందికరమే. కానీ వాటిని అధిగమించేలా తల్లిదండ్రులు స్వేచ్ఛనివ్వాలి. అమ్మాయిలు కూడా దాన్ని దుర్వినియోగం చేయకుండా ఉపయోగించుకోవాలి. అవరోధాలను అధిగమించాలంటే.. నేటి ఆధునిక మహిళకు కావల్సింది.. మెండైన ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం. దాంతోపాటు కెరీర్‌లో ఉన్నత స్థాయికి చేరాలంటే హార్డ్ వర్క్, టైం మేనేజ్‌మెంట్ ముఖ్యమే!! |

Flying to the USA? Follow these tips!
The United States of America has thousands of accredited colleges and universities renowned for quality, numerous programs of study, and flexibility to change fields of study and schools. The wide range of tuition and living costs makes the United States affordable for thousands of international students each year. It is a wonderful place for Indian students too. My passport is stamped with F1 visa, what should I do now? What groundwork should I do? How should I prepare before flying to USA? What should I do after landing in USA...? Such questions flash on your mind. Do not falter, each US University has an international student services office with trained counselors available to answer your questions and guide you through the process of adaption to US university life. The international student services office also organizes a variety of regularly schedule events for international students. Many US campuses also have Indian student associations, which also organize events on a regular basis.
University of Cambridge: Most sought after destination for Indians
The University of Cambridge is one of the most ancient and distinguished universities in the world. The University has been ranked number 1 in the 2013 Guardian, Sunday Times and Complete University Guides and it is one of the three most targeted universities by top employers according to The Graduate Market in 2012. In 2012-13, there were over 300 students from India studying in Cambridge (67 undergraduates and 239 postgraduates). About half (111 out of 241 in 2009-10) of them are supported by scholarship and bursary schemes administered by the Cambridge Trusts.
