Civil Service Preliminary Examination 2015

Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2015 has been notified by the UPSC to be conducted on 23rd August, 2015.

Education News
The Preliminary exam is a screening test for selection of candidates
for the Civil Services (Main) Examination and Indian Forest Service
(Main) Examination.



Vacancies:

  • The number of vacancies to be filled through the Civil Service examination is expected to be 1129.
  • The number of vacancies to be filled through the Indian Forest Service examination is expected to be 110.


Educational Qualification: The
candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an
Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational
institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be
deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants
Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.



Age Limit: (As on 01/08/2014): 21-32 years

No. of Attempts:

General – Six

OBC – Nine

SC/ST - No limit



Note: The candidate who appeared in the Civil Service Exam, 2011 is permitted an additional attempt in the Civil Service Exam, 2015

Plan of Examination:

The competitive examination comprises two successive stages.
  • Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination; and
  • Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) and Indian
    Forest Service (Main) Examination for the selection of candidates for
    the various services and posts.


New Changes Adopted in the Prelims Exam:

  • The candidates to be qualified for Civil Service (Main) Exam based
    on the criterion of minimum qualifying marks of 33% in the General
    Studies Paper-II (CSAT) in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination
    and the total qualifying marks of General Studies Paper-I as may be
    determined by the UPSC.
  • The English Language comprehension skill portion from General
    Studies Paper-II of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will
    continue to remain excluded.


New Changes Adopted in the Main Exam:

  • The minimum qualifying marks for the qualifying papers of English
    and Indian Language papers in the Main Exam is set at 25% marks.


How to apply:

The candidates are required to apply only through the online mode through the

website: www.upsconline.nic.in



Fee: Rs. 100/-
either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by Cash, or by using
net banking facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner &
Jaipur/ ate Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of
Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit
Card. Female/ SC/ ST/ PH candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

  • Date of the Exam: 23 August, 2015

Civil Service Preliminary Examination 2015

CSAT is no more a compulsory paper, it will be of qualifying nature: Govt.

The aptitude test will continue to be part of civil services preliminary examination however it will be not a compulsory paper any more. The paper will be of qualifying nature, according to the government.
Education NewsThe minimum qualifying marks of CSAT fixed at 33 per cent. However, the government has announced setting up an expert committee to take a holistic view of the aptitude test.

Bavithaభారత అంతరిక్ష పరిశోధన సంస్థ (ఇస్రో ) వినీలాకాశంలో తన అప్రతిహత జైత్రయాత్రను సాగించడంలో మరోసారి సఫలమైంది. విదేశీ వాణిజ్యం నిమిత్తం ప్రయోగించిన ఐదు ఉపగ్రహాలను మోసుకుపోవడంలో ఇస్రో మానసపుత్రిక అయిన పీఎస్‌ఎల్‌వీ తన విద్యుక్తధర్మాన్ని విజయవంతం చేసింది. శాస్త్రవేత్తల నమ్మకాన్ని నిజం చేస్తూ శాస్త్రసాంకేతిక రంగంలో మరో అడుగు ముందుకు వేసేందుకు ఆత్మస్థైర్యాన్ని ప్రోదిచేసింది. 

26వ వరుస విజయం:అంతరిక్ష యానంలో ఇస్రో మరో అడుగుముందుకు వేసింది. నెల్లూరులోని శ్రీహరికోట సతీష్ ధావన్ అంతరిక్ష కేంద్రం నుంచి PSLV-C23 నుంచి ఉపగ్రహాలను పంపడంలో శతశాతం విజయం సాధించింది. ఈ ప్రయోగం ద్వారా వాణిజ్య రంగంలో తనదంటూ చెరగని ముద్రవేసుకుంది. నాలుగు దేశాలకు చెందిన ఐదు ఉపగ్రహాలను ఇస్రో ప్రయోగించింది. ఇలా పీఎస్‌ఎల్‌వీల ప్రయోగ పరంపరలో ఇది 27వది. కాగా ఇది 26వ వరుస విజయం.

Union Budget 2014-15: Highlights



Education NewsHere are the highlights of Union Budget 2014 tabled by finance minister Arun Jaitley in the Lok Sabha:
  • Aim to achieve 7-8 per cent economic growth rate in next 3-4 years.
  • FDI in Insurance to be increased to 49%.
  • FDI in Defence up from 26 to 49 % with Indian management and control.
  • E-visas to be introduced at nine airports in India in phased manner.
  • Government announces reduction in excise duty for specified food package industry from 10% to 6%.
  • Excise duty on footwear reduced from 12% to 6%
  • Basic custom duty on LED panel below 19 inch made nil.

800 seats available in Andhra Pradesh medical colleges



Education NewsHyderabad: Eight hundred medical seats are available for students in the Andhra Pradesh region for the year 2014-15. Of these, 350 are additional seats sanctioned by the Medical Council of India (MCI).



Minister for health and family welfare Kamineni Srinivas said, “We have got a total of 800 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 500 seats in the government sector and 300 seats in the private sector. With this we have got 350 additional seats which will be allotted in both the sectors.”

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) – 2015

Organizing Institute: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur

Admission to Postgraduate Courses (Masters and Doctoral)in the country, with MHRD and other Government Scholarships/ Assistantships in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science, is open to those who qualify in GATE.

Validity of GATE 2015 score will be for a period of 3 years only from the date of announcement of results. For all the papers, GATE 2015 examination will be conducted in only ONLINE mode. For some of the papers the examination will be conducted in multiple sessions.
