The aptitude test will continue to be part of civil services preliminary examination however it will be not a compulsory paper any more. The paper will be of qualifying nature, according to the government.

The minimum qualifying marks of CSAT fixed at 33 per cent. However, the government has announced setting up an expert committee to take a holistic view of the aptitude test.
